Neck Collar
Row 1: Ch (49, 55, 61). Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Hbsc in each remaining ch across. (48, 54, 60 hbsc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Hbsc in each st across. (48, 54, 60 hbsc)
Rows 3–6: Repeat Row 2. (4 rows for S, 5 for M, 6 for L)

Edging:
Turn to work up the raw edge of Rows 1–(4, 5, 6). Sc (6, 5, 6) evenly along edge.
3 sc in corner st.
Sc across long edge to next corner. 3 sc in corner.
Sc (6, 5, 6) down opposite raw edge. 3 sc in corner.
Sc 8 across foundation chain. Sl st into next st to finish.
Hood (Worked in Rounds)
Sl st into last ch on opposite side to form a circle.
Ch 1, sc in same st. Sc in next (38, 44, 50) chs. Join with sl st to first sc. Mark this st and the 7th st on either side.
Setup:
Turn to WS. Sl st across to first marker. Remove marker, sl st into next st.

Face Cuff
Rnd 1: Attach gray yarn at hood-collar corner. Ch 1, sc evenly around face opening. Join with sl st. (Approx. 62, 68, 74 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc). Dc in each st around. Join with sl st.
Rnd 3: (Fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st) repeat around. End with fpdc. Join with sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Tab & Surface Crochet
Attach Burgundy yarn at bottom edge of tab.
Sc up side and across top.
At row dividing helmet and collar, surface crochet loosely around piece. Sc down opposite side and along bottom.
⚠ Tip: Surface crochet very loosely around the piece at the helmet-collar divide. If too tight, it may not fit over the head.
Finish:
Sew snap to inside of tab.
Sew decorative button to front.

With Burgundy yarn, make magic ring. Ch 2, work 12 dc into ring.
Join with sl st to first dc. Leave long tail for sewing.
Sew bolts at button sides and tack top in place.
