Making the top of the Head

Rnd 1. Arrange the pieces and attach yarn as shown below.
Draw up a loop and ch 7. Insert your hook in the 1st st on the opposite piece.
With pieces attached: Sc in each of the next 5 sts. Sc the next 2 sts tog. Sc in the marked st. Sc the next 2 sts tog. Sc in each of the next 5 sts. Ch 7 and join with a sc into the next st on the opposite side. (this is your 1st sc.) Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sc the next 2 sts tog. Sc in the marked st. Sc the next 2 sts tog. Sc in each of the next 5 sts.
This is the end of the 1st rnd. There is no need to join but do mark the next st as the beginning st. (26 sc and 2 ch 7 made.)

Santa Hat for Grinch
Rnd 1. Beginning at peak, with Red worsted weight yarn and I hook, ch 2 or make a magic circle. Ch 1 and make 5 sc into the ring or 2nd ch from the hook. Do not join, but do mark 1st st. (5 sc made.)
Rnd 2. Sc in each of the 5 sc around.
Rnd 3. Make 2 sc in each st around. (10 sts made.)

Row 2. Sc in each of the next 11 sc. (Make 2 hdc in next st) 4 times. Sc in each of the last 11 sc. ch 1 and turn. (30 sts made.)
Row 3. Sc in each of the next 10 sts. Hdc in next st. (Make 2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st) 4 times. Hdc in next st. Sc in the last 10 sts. Ch 1 and turn. (34 sts made.)

Sew to the top of the headband as shown below. Take a piece of dark yarn and tie around the center of (tree branch antler) as shown below.
Do not use hot glue to glue the head to the headband. Use a glue such as E6000.
I Glued the head to the headband and then secured it in place by tying scraps of yarn around the top at key places to keep both pieces together. Let dry overnight before removing the ties.
