Any Size Pumpkin Bowl Hot Pad
Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4″
Measure your Bowl
Turn your bowl upside down and Measure the distance between the center of the bowl and the lip.
Mine measures 4″. I know from the Gauge above that 13 sts = 4″ so I will ch a few extra. (1 for the starting ch and 1 more just because 😀.) If your bowl for example is 10″ tall, I would multiply 13 sts x 10″ for 130 chs.
Row 1. Ch 15, Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, and working in blo for all stitches, sl st in the next 2 chs. Sc in each of the next 4 chs. Make 8 (or any Number here – X) hdc in each of the last 8, X chs. Ch 1 and turn. (14, X )
Row 2. Note: The turning ch 1 does not count as a st. Hdc in the blo of the next 8, X sts.. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sl st in each of the last 2 sts. Turn. (14, X sts)
Row 3. Sl st in the next 2 sts. Sc in each of the next 4 chs. Make 8, X hdc in each of the last 8, X sts. Ch 1 and turn. (14, X sts)
Row 4. Hdc in the blo of the next 8 sts. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sl st in each of the last 2 sts. Turn. (14 sts)
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until the desired bowl width is reached. Go to Finishing at the bottom of patterns.
Finishing
Sew or crochet the side seams tog.
Finishing bottom: Thread a darning needle with pumpkin colored yarn and begin weaving the opening closed.
Once you have ran the yarn through all the opening sts, draw tight and secure.
Turn the hot pad to the right side and place over the bowl.
