I know this is a crochet blog but I am so excited about my new project that I just had to share.
We recently decided to downsize and I had no room for my old Oak China Cabinet. I tried to sell it but no one wants a China Cabinet anymore so I searched and seached for ways to repurpose it. Every idea I found was basically to paint it and take the top doors off. This did not work for me. If I was going to put this piece in my new cabin, it had to be useful.
I finally found an idea that would work for me! Turn the China Cabinet into a kitchen Pantry. Woo hoo, something useful.
Below I am going to show the steps as I go, to show you my progress.
Here is what I started with.
Beautiful but just not practical for my new smaller home.
This paint was so forgiving. I just love it. BTW (Amy Howard has some great YouTube videos that teach you how to use her paint.)
It took two coats to paint the piece but this is normal.
Next I had to wax each piece. I did this the next day to ensure the paint was dry.
Once the wax was hardened we carefully loaded the piece and brought it to our new cabin. My husband mounted the upper cabinet and pushed the bottom piece onto position.
