Dish Cloth
Rnd 1. With green yarn and I hook, make a magic circle. Ch 3 and make 14 more dc in the ring. Join to the 3rd of the beg ch 3. (15 dcs made, counting beg ch as a 3 dc.)
Rnd 2. Ch 5 (counts as a trc and a ch 1.) ** (Make 3 dc in the next st) 2 times. Ch 1 and trc in the next st. Ch 1, * rep from ** to * 3 more times for a total of 4 times. End with, make 3 dc in the next st, ch 1 and join to the 4th ch of the beg ch-5 with a sl st. You will see the beginning of the 5 points. (30 dc and 5 trc made.)
Rnd 3. Ch 5, ** in the next ch-1 sp make 3 dc. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. Skip 2 sts and dc in each of the next 2 sts. Make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and trc in the next st. Ch 1, * rep from ** to * around. end with, make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. Sk 2 sts. Dc in each of the next 2 sts. Make 3 dc in the last ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and join to the 4th ch of the beg ch 5 with a sl st. (50 dc and 5 trc made.)
Rnd 4. Ch 5, ** in the next ch-1 sp make 3 dc. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Skip 2 sts and dc in each of the next 4 sts. Make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and trc in the next st. Ch 1, * rep from ** to * around. end with, make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Sk 2 sts. Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Make 3 dc in the last ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and join to the 4th ch of the beg ch 5 with a sl st. (70 dc and 5 trc made.)
Rnd 5. Ch 5, ** in the next ch-1 sp make 3 dc. Dc in each of the next 6 sts. Skip 2 sts and dc in each of the next 6 sts. Make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and trc in the next st. Ch 1, * rep from ** to * around. end with, make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Dc in each of the next 6 sts. Sk 2 sts. Dc in each of the next 6 sts. Make 3 dc in the last ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and join to the 6th ch of the beg ch 5 with a sl st. (90 dc and 5 trc made.)
Rnd 6. Ch 5, ** in the next ch-1 sp make 3 dc. Dc in each of the next 8 sts. Skip 2 sts and dc in each of the next 8 sts. Make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and trc in the next st. Ch 1, * rep from ** to * around. end with, make 3 dc in the next ch-1 sp. Dc in each of the next 8 sts. Sk 2 sts. Dc in each of the next 8 sts. Make 3 dc in the last ch-1 sp. Ch 1 and join to the 6th ch of the beg ch 5 with a sl st. (110 dc and 5 trc made.) End off and weave in the end.
Flowers – Make 5
With flower color and I hook, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1. Ch 1 and make 5 sc in the ring.
Rnd 2 Ch 1. Sl st to 1st sc. In the same space as the sl st, work (1 hdc, 3 dc and 1 hdc.) 1st petal made. ** In the next st make (sl st, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc.)* Rep from ** to * 3 more times. Sl st into the 1st ch1 made. End off leaving a tail to sew to dish cloth tip as shown below.
Notes: This is a cute dishcloth that can be tied with a ribbon to look like a bouquet to give to a friend, it can be used as a bow on a shower gift, it can be sold at craft fairs, or used and put in a clay pot to dry on your
counter. Also this can be made larger by just adding 2 to the number I have highlighted on rounds 4-6. (Would make a cute dish drying matt.)
