Materials Needed.
- 2 oz of worsted weight green yarn.
- scraps of Pink and black worsted weight yarn
- Size I crochet hook
- Darning needle and scissors

Main piece
Row 1. With Green and I hook. Ch 61, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across. (60 sts made.)
Rows 2 – 12. Blo sc in each of the next 6 sts. (Sc in the next st, dc in the next st) 24 times. Blo sc in each of the last 6 sts. Ch 1 and turn.
At the end of row 12, end off and weave in the end.
Attach your green yarn in the 18th st from the right. This should be a dc.
Row 13. Ch 1 a sc in the same st, dc in the next st. (Sc in the next st. Dc in the next st) 13 times. Ch 1 and turn. (26 sts made.)
Rows 14- 28. (Sc in the next st, dc in the next st) across the 26 sts. Ch 1 and turn.
End off and weave in the end. Set the piece aside.
Assemble
Pin piece in half so it looks like a boot. Pin and sew together.
Flip the piece over after it is sewn and pin only as shown below, leaving the can opening free.
Sew arm and cuff together.
Turn the piece to the right side and tuck the top of the canholder to the inside. (It will be about 1 inch taller than the arm piece.
Bottom
With Green make a magic circle.
Rnd 1. Ch 2, (does NOT count as st.) Make 12 dcs in the ring. (If you opted to ch 3, make 12 dcs in 3rd ch from hook. The beg ch2 will not count as dc.) Join to top of 1st dc with sl st. (12 dcs made)
Rnd 2. Ch 1, make 2 hdcs in the same st. Hdc in next st. (Make 2 hdcs in the next st, hdc in the next st) around. Join to the top of 1st hdc with sl st. (18 hdcs made.)
Rnd 3. Ch 1, make 2 hdcs in the same st. Hdc in each of the next 2 sts. (Make 2 hdcs in the next st, hdc in each of the next 2 sts) around. End with 2 hdc in last st. Join to the top of 1st hdc with sl st. (26 hdcs made.) End off and weave in the end. Sew to the bottom of the open side of the can holder making sure to sew through all 3 layers.
Eyes – make 2
With black yarn and I hook make a magic circle.
Rnd 1. Ch 1 and make 6 sc in the ring. Do not join.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each of the 6 sc around. Join and end off black. (12 sc made.)
Rnd 3. Join green in any st. Ch 1 and sc in each of the 12 sts around. Do not join.
Rnd 4. (Sc the next 2 sts tog) 6 times. End off leaving a long tail. Sew to the front of the can holder as shown ,above making sure to only sew through the top layer.
Lips
With pink yarn ch 10
Row 1. Sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook, In the next ch make a sc and a hdc. Make 2 dc in the next ch. Dc and hdc in the next ch. Sl st in the next ch. Hdc and dc in the next ch. Make 2 dc in the next ch. Hdc and sc in the next ch. Sl st in the last ch. End off leaving a long tail. Using the tail sew the two ends together at the sl sts to form a circle. Sew to the front of the can holder as shown on the cover, once again being careful not to sew through both thicknesses. (Pucker
the lips tog to give them a little depth.)
Fins – Make 2
With green yarn ch 8 leaving a long beg tail, trc in the 5th ch from the hook. (Make 2 trc in the next ch) 3 times. End off and weave in the end. Pin and sew to the can holder sides as shown below.
