Cut a piece of cardboard about 3″ by 7″. With Multi-colored yarn wrap the cardboard about 125 times. Do NOT cut yarn. Thread a darning needles with white yarn and sew mane with a back st as shown below. Tighten each st

When you have reached the end of your sewing, pull the sewn part of the mane off and rewrap the cardboard about 125 times.

Continue sewing across this new section.

Repeat this process until the mane is the desired length. (I did this about 3 times.)

When the mane is the desired length, begin sewing the mane to the hood at the front center edge and working down the back center of the sweater.

Clip the loops.

Cut a piece of cardboard about 2 x 12 inches and wrap the multi-colored yarn around the 12″ side to make a long tail. Repeat the sewing process above making a compact tail and sew to the back end of the sweater. Cut loops.
