Girl’s
Materials Needed
- Size I and size 0 crochet hooks
- 3 oz of Pink worsted weight yarn
- 1 ounce White worsted weight yarn
- One 1″ White Button
- Three ½” White buttons
- #3 White cotton crochet thread
Working on the center part, ch 21 (31, 37) sts.
Row 1. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each rem ch across. [20 (30, 36) sts made.]

Row 1. Ch 1 and turn. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts. Sc the last 2 sts tog. (18 sts made.)
Row 2. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the 18 sts across.
Row 3. Ch 1 and turn. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts. Sc the last 2 sts tog. (16 sts made.)

Row 2. Sc in the 1st st. Hdc in the next st and dc in the next 4, 8, 13 sts. Sc in each of the next 7, 11, 16, 22 sts. Ch 3 for the buttonhole. Sk 3 sts and sc in the rem 2 sts. Ch 1 and turn. (15, 23, 33 sts made.)
Row 3. Sc in each of the 1st 2 sts. Make 3 sc over the ch3 loop. Sc in each of the next 5 , 9, 14 sts. Hdc in the next st. Dc in each of the next 5, 9, 13 sts. (Make 2 hdc in the next st) 2 times. Sc in the next st and make 2 sc up rows 1 and 2 above. End off at the top of the collar and weave in the end.

Make a row of sc across the top 26, 36 chs. End off and weave in the end.
With white #3:thread and size 0 hook, surface crochet or embroider a seam up the center as shown below.
Medium and Large Sizes Only: make a row of sc across the top 18, 26, 36, 48 chs. End off and weave in the end.
Row 1. Attach white thread on the top left wrong side as shown below and ch 1.
Make a multiple of 4 plus 1 evenly spaced sc around the sides and bottom. (Leave The top unworked.) Ch 1 and turn.
Row 2. Sc in the 1st st. (Sk 1 st and make 5 dc in the next st. Sk 1 st and sc in the next st) across.
Pin and sew collar to the top of head Bandana as shown below.
Sew the three ½” buttons to Bandana, and sew the 1″ button opposite the buttonhole as shown below.
Boy’s Bandana
Materials Needed

- Two to Three ½” Black buttons
Beginning at Neck Edge
With Black yarn and I hook, ch 37 (55, 73)
Row 1. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each rem ch across. [36 (54, 72) sts made.]
Row 2. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the next 31 (49, 67.) Ch 3 for the buttonhole. Sk 3 sts and sc in the rem 2 sts. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 3. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the 1st 2 sts. Make 3 sc over the ch3 loop. Sc in each of the next 31 (49, 67) sts. [36 (54, 72) sts made.]
For Large size only: Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the (67) sts across.
Begin Bandana Portion
Row 1. Sl st in each of the next 8 (12, 18) sts. Ch 1 and sc in each of the next 20 (30, 36) sts. Ch 1 and turn.
Shaping For All
Row 1. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts. Sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn. [18 (28, 34) sts made.]
Row 2. Sc in each of the 18 (28, 34) sts across. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 3. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts. Sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn. [16 (24, 32) sts made.]
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until only 2 sts remain. Sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn.
Finishing
Make 3 sc in the last st made. Turn and sc evenly around the entire piece making 3 sc in each outside corner and 1 dec in each inside corner to keep work flat.
White Center Piece
Row 1. With white and I hook ch 13 (23, 33.) Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each st across. [ 12 (22, 32) sts made.]
Row 2. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts. Sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn. [10 (20, 30) sts made.] Note: the final row count will be 2 different.
Row 3. Sc in each of the [10 (20, 30) sts across. Ch 1 and turn. Note: This row is worked even on the number of sts from the previous row.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until only 2 sts remain. Sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn.
Finishing
Make 3 sc in the last st made. Turn and sc evenly around the entire piece making 3 sc in each outside corner to keep work flat. Join to the 1st sc made with a sl st. End off leaving a long tail and sew to the bandana as shown below.
Bow
With Black and size I hook ch 4 loosely.
Row 1. Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in the last 2 chs. (3 sc made.)
Row 2. Ch 1 and turn, make 2 sc in the 1st sc, sc in the next sc, make 2 sc in the last sc. (5 sc made.)
Rows 3 – 11. Ch 1 and turn, sc in each of the 5 sc across.
Row 12. Ch 1 turn, pull up a loop in first 2 sc, YO and draw through all 3 loops on hook for a dec, sc in next sc, dec
over next 2 sts. (3 sc made.)
Rows 13-14. Ch 1 and turn. Sc in each of the 3 sts across. (3 sc made.)
Row 15. Ch 1 and turn, make 2 sc in the 1st sc, sc in the next sc, make 2 sc in the last sc. (5 sc made.)
Rows 16 – 24. Ch 1 and turn, sc in each of the 5 sc across.
Row 25. Ch 1 turn, pull up a loop in first 2 sc, YO a. nd draw through all 3 loops on hook for a dec, sc in next sc, dec
over the next 2 sts. (3 sc made.)
Finishing: Ch 1, turn to work across rows 1-25 and sc in the end of each row across. Working in free loops of beginning ch, sc in next 3 chs. Sc in end of each row 1-25 across. Sl st into the 1st st of the end ch 3. Sc both 3 st ends tog.
1. End off leaving a 36″ tail.
2. Fold the piece towards the center and sew the 3 sts at each end tog.
3 and 4. Fold the bow so that the 3 sts are in the Middle. Wrap the tail you left tightly around the center.
