14″ x 34″

Motif 1

Rnd 1. With yellow make a magic circle. Ch 2 and make 16 dc in ring. Join the 1st dc made with a sl st. End off yellow and weave in the end.

Rnd 2. Join white in any st from rnd 1. Ch 3 sk 1 st and dc in the next st. Ch 3, dc in the same st. (Sk 1 st and dc in the next st, ch 3 and dc in the same st) 7 times.

End with sk 1 st and dc in the same st as the beg ch 3. ch 3 and sl st in the top of the beg ch3 to end rnd. End off and weave in the end. (8 ch3 sps made.)

Rnd 4. Attach Red in any ch3 sp from rnd 3. Ch 3, (in the next ch3 sp make 2 dc, ch 3 and 2 dc) 7 times.

End with, in the next ch3 sp make 2 dc, ch 3 and dc. Join to the top of the beg ch3 with a sl st. (16 dc Made.) Rnd 5. Sl st in each of the next 2 sts and into the ch3 sp.

Ch 3 and make 2 dc, ch 3 and 3 dc in the same sp. (In the next ch 3 sp make 3 dc, ch 3 and 3 dc) 7 times. Join to the top of the beg ch 3. End off red and weave in the end. (48 dc made.)

Rnd 6. Join green yarn in sp between groups of dcs as shown below. Ch 1 and sc in the same sp.

Ch 3, (in the next ch 3 sp make 2 dc, ch 2 and 2 dc. Ch 3 and sc the between the next 2 groups of dcs. Ch 3) 8 times. End with sl st into the beg sc.

Rnd 7. Attach white in any ch2 sp on rnd 6 and ch 1. (In ch2 sp make sc, ch 2 and sc. Ch 2, in the next sc make, sc, ch 3 and dc. Ch 2) around.

End with a sl st into the beg sc. End off for the 1st motif and weave in the end. For the 2nd and 3rd motifs follow the directions below.

2nd and 3rd Motifs

Follow the directions above for rounds 1 – 6.

 

Rnd 7. Joining round. Attach white in any ch2 sp on rnd 6 and ch 1. In ch2 sp make sc, ch 2 and sc. Ch 2, in the next sc make, dc, ch 3 and dc. Ch 2,

 

Join the 1st motif as follows. 1. Sc in next ch2 sp. 2. Ch 1. 3. Insert hook though any ch 2 sp on motif 1. 4. YO and make a sc. 5. Ch 1. 6. Sc back into the ch2 sp on motif 2. Motifs joined.

Join green in the beg dc in the group of 7 dc.

Rnd 2. Ch 1 and sc in the same st.

Santa’s Belt

22″ x 26″

 

Materials Needed

2 ½ ounce Red #4 Red Heart Worsted weight yarn. 1 ounces White #4 Red Heart Worsted weight yarn.

¼ ounce Black #4 Red Heart Worsted weight yarn. Scraps of Gold #4 Red Heart Worsted weight yarn. Size I crochet hook, Scissors and a darning needle.

 

Row 1. With Red ch 2 and sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2. Make 2 sc in the sc. Ch 1 and turn. (2 sc made )

Row 3. (Make 2 sc in the next st) twice. Ch 1 and turn. (4 sc made.)

Row 4. Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Sc in each st until the last st. Make 2 sc in the last st. Ch 1 and turn. (4 sc made.) Rows 5-18. Rep row 4 increasing 2 sts each row, 1 at the beginning and one at the end. At the end of row 18 you will have 32 scs. Ch 1 and turn.

Rows 19 – 24. Sc in each of the 32 sts across. Ch 1 and turn. At the end of row 24, end off Red and weave in the end. Attach Black in the last st worked.

Belt 1

Rows 1-6. With Black sc in each of the 32 sts across. At the end of row 6, end off Black and weave in the end. Attach Red in the last st worked.

Middle of Topper

Rows 1-36. With Red sc in each of the 32 sts across. At the end of row 36, end off Red and weave in the end. Attach Black in the last st worked.

 

Belt 2

Rows 1-6. With Black sc in each of the 32 sts across. At the end of row 6, end off Black and weave in the end. Attach Red in the last st worked.

 

Rows 7 – 12. Sc in each of the 32 sts across. Ch 1 and turn.

 

Beg Decreasing

Row 1. Sc the 1st 2 sts tog. Sc in each st until the last 2 sts, sc the last 2 sts tog. Ch 1 and turn. (30 sc Made.)

 

Repeat row 2 until 2 sts rem. On the last row sc the last 2 sts tog. Do not end off but continue to finishing below.

 

Finishing

Ch 1 and make 3 sc know the last st made. Sc evenly around the entire piece making 2 sc at each side where you began increasing or decreasing and 3 sc in each end.

End off and weave in the end.

 

Buckles – Make 2

With Gold yarn, ch 28 and join to form a ring.

 

Rnd 1. Ch 1 and make 3 sc in the1st ch. (Sc in each of the next 6 chs. Make 3 sc in the next st) 3 times, end with sc in each of the next 6 sts. Join to the 1st sc with a sl st. End off leaving a long tail.

Set aside and make the other.

Sew buckle the the middle of the belt and embroider a prong as shown above.

Edging

Attach white yarn in any st on the outside. (Loops will appear on the right side.) Loop st in each st around making increases at points to keep work flat. Join to beg loop st with a sll st. End off and weave in the end.
