Special Stitches
Linked Double Crochet St (ldc st.) 1-2. Insert hook into horizontal middle bar of the previous stitch from top to bottom, 3-4. yo, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), 5. insert hook into next st, 6. yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), 7. yo, pull through 2 loops, 8. yo, pull through the remaining 2 loops.
11 ½” Basket – Starting at Basket Bottom
With twine and size K hook, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1. In ring, ch 1 and make 6 sc. Do not join but do mark 1st st. Tighten circle.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.)
Rnd 3. (Sc in the next st, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (18 sc made.)
Rnd 4. (Sc in each of the next 2 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (24 sc made.)
Rnd 5. (Sc in each of the next 3 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (30 sc made.) Rnd 6. (Sc in each of the next 4 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (36 sc made.)
Rnd 7. (Sc in each of the next 5 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (42 sc made.) Rnd 8. (Sc in each of the next 6 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (48 sc made.)

Turning Rnd 15. (Sc in the blo of each of the next 21 sts. Ch 10) around. Join to the 1st st with a sl st. (84 sc and 4 ch 10 lps made.)
Begin Sides
Rnd 1. Ch 3, counts as 1st dc. Make a ldc st in each of the next 20 sts. Ch 10. (Dc in the next dc. Make a ldc in each of the next 20 sts. Ch 10,) around. End with a sl st into the top of the 1st dc made. (84 sts and 4 ch10 spaces made.)
Rnds 2 – 10. Rep rnd 1.
Weaving side loops.
Begin at the bottom and pull the 2nd loop under the 1st loop.
Continue this process until all loops are crocheted and the side looks like a braid. Repeat on the rest of the side loops.
Begin Handles Rnd 1. Ch 3, counts as 1st dc. Make a hdc st in each of the next 20 sts. Ch 20 for 1st handle. (Dc in the next dc. Make a ldc in each of the next 20 sts. Ch 20,) around. End with a sl st into the top of the 1st dc made.
Rnd 2. Ch1 and (sc in each st until ch 20 is reached. Make 22 sc over handle) repeat around. Join to the 1st sc made on rnd. End off and weave in the end.
