Pattern Ideas: This pattern was written as a plastic bag holder but could easily be converted into the following by sewing the bottom closed and/or adding a zipper to the mouth. A handle could also be added for a purse or add stuffing and sew the mouth and bottom shut and make a quirky pillow.

Starting at the top of the head
With green and a size I hook, make a magic circle
Rnd 1. In circle ch 1 and make 6 sc. Do not join but do mark 1st st. Tighten the circle.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.)
Rnd 3. (Sc in the next st, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (18 sc made.)
Rnd 4. (Sc in each of the next 2 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (24 sc made.)
Rnd 5. (Sc in each of the next 7 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (27 sc made.

Lay the piece flat and mark both side sts as shown below. There will be 23 unmarked stitches in the back and 23 unmarked stitches in the front.
Rnd 16. Attach white yarn in any st at the back. Ch 2 and dc in the same st and in each st around until you reach a marker. In the marked st make 3 dc. Removing the marker and replacing it in the 2nd dc made. Do the same when you reach the 2nd marked st. Finish by making a dc in each remaining st. Join to the top of the beg dc. Note. The two increased areas on the sides will be the shoulders. (52 dc made.)
Rnd 17. Ch 2 and dc in the same st and in each st around until you reach a marker. In the marked st make 3 dc. Removing the marker and replacing it in the 2nd dc made. Do the same when you reach the 2nd marked st. Finish by making a dc in each remaining st. Join to the top of the beg dc. (56 dc made.) You may remove markers after this round.
Rnds 18 – 23. Ch 2 and dc in the same st and in each st around. Join to the top of the beg dc. (56 dc made.)
Rnd 24. (Dc in the next 6 sts. Dc the next 2 sts tog) around. Join to the top of the beg dc. (49 dc made.)
Rnds 26 – 27. Dc In each of the 49 sts around. Join as usual.

Collar
With white and size I hook, ch 50.
Row 1. Ch 2 and dc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. (48 dc made.) (beg ch 2 does not count as a st.
Row 2. Ch 2 and turn. Ch 2 does not count as a st. Dc in each of the next 7 Inc in the next st across. (54 dc made.)
Collar Shaping Make 8 trc in the 4th st. (Trc in the next st) 5 times. (Dc in the next st) 5 times. (Hdc into each of the next 16 sts) or until only 14 sts remain.
(Dc in the next st) 5 times. (Trc in the next st) 5 times. Make 8 trc in the next st. Join to the last st with a sl st. End off and weave in the end.
Attach yarn to the tab edge as shown below and sc evenly around the collar making increases as needed around the rounded edge. End off leaving a long tail.
Mark the center front under the mouth.
Pin and then sew the collar in place.
Pinafore
Waistband
With pink yarn, ch 55 and join to the first ch made with a sl st.
Row 1. Sc in each ch around. (55 sts made.) Do not join but do mark the first st.
Rows 2 – 4. Sc in each ch around.
Row 5. This Row will be worked on in the blo. Ch 2, (dc in the blo of each of the next 4 sts. Make 2 dc in the blo of the next st.) (66 sts made.)
Row 6. Begin working through both loops once again. Ch 2, (dc in the blo of each of the next 5 sts. Make 2 dc in the blo of the next st.) (77 sts made.)
Rows 7- 13. Ch 2 and dc in each of the 77 sts around. End off and weave in the end.
Pin to the bag holder, but do not sew down yet. (Around rnd 23.)
Straps – Make 2
With Pink, ch 18.
Rnd 1. Make 3 sc in the 2nd ch from the Hook. Sc in each of the next 15 sts. Make 3 sc in the end st. Sc in each of the next 15 sts. Do NOT join. (36 sc made.)
Rnd 2. Make 3 sc in the 1st st. Sc in the next st. Make 3 sc in the next sti. Sc in each of the next 15 sts. Make 3 sc in the next st. Sc in the next st. Make 3 sc in the next st. Sc in each of the next 15 sts. Join and end off leaving a long tail. Set the piece aside.
Rep rows 1-2 above for the 2nd strap.
Pin and sew the straps Under the collar and under the skirt band. Sew the straps down and then sew around the Waistband being careful not to sew the back and front together.
Bow – Make 1
Row 1: With Pink yarn and I hook, ch 5 loosely. (Right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in last 3 chs. (4 sc made.)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; make 2 sc in first sc, sc in each of the next 2 sc, make 2 sc in last sc. (6 sc made.)
Rows 3 – 11: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Row 12: Ch 1 turn, pull up a loop in the first 2 sc, YO and draw through all 3 lps on hook for dec, sc in each of the next 2 sc, dec over next 2 sts. (4 sts made.)
Rows 13 – 14: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Row 15: Ch 1, turn; make 2 sc in first sc, sc in each of the next 2 sc, make 2 sc in last sc. (6 sc made.)
Rows 16 –24 : Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.

2. Sew narrow ends tog. 3. Fold so narrow ends and center are back to back. Wrap yarn tightly around center a few times and sew to costume as shown below.
Hanger
With pink ch 14 and join to the 1st ch to form a circle. Ch 1 and make 14 sc over the ring. Join and end off leaving a long tail.
Feet – Make 2
Rnd 1. Ch 7, make 3 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in each of the next 4. Make 3 sc in the last ch. Sc in the last 4 ch. Do not join but do mark the 1st st. (14 sc made.)
Rnd 2. Sc in each of the 14 sc around.
Rnd 3. Sc in the 1st st. Sk the next st. Sc in each of the next 6 sts. Sk the next st. Sc in each of the last 4 sts. (12 sc made.)

Attach Hot Pink yarn in the left side of the face opening.

Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Sc in each of the next 20 sts. (Make 2 sc in the next st) 4 times. Sc in each of the next 20 sts. Make 2 sc in the last st. (48 sc made.)

Rnd 4. Sc in each of the 56 sts around.

Rnd 6. Sc in each of the 48 sc around. End off leaving a very long tail.
Finishing: Fold over the mouth to the 1st row and sew in place using the long tail.
Add a zipper to the inside of the mouth if making a secure bag.
Eyeballs – Make 2
With white and size I hook, make a magic circle and ch 1.
Rnd 1. Make 6 sc in the ring, do not join but work in rnds.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.)
Rnd 3. Sc in each of the 12 sts around.
Rnd 4. (Sc in the next st, sc the next 2 sts tog) around. (8 sc made.)
Lightly stuff.
Rnd 5. (Sc the next 2 sts tog) around. (4 sc made.) End off leaving a tail. Using the tail, weave the last 4 sts tog to close the hole. Set aside.
Pupil – Make 2
With white and size I hook, make a magic circle and ch 1.
Rnd 1. Make 6 sc in the ring. Join and end off leaving a tail to sew to the eyeball. With white make a glint in the eye.
Sew the pupil to the eyeball.
Eyelids – Make 2
With green yarn and I hook, make a magic circle and ch 1.
Rnd 1. Make 6 sc in the ring, do not join but work in rnds.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.)
Rnd 3. (Sc in the next st, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (18 sc made.)
Rnd 4. (Sc in each of the next 2 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (24 sc made.)
Rnd 5. (Sc in each of the next 3 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (30 sc made.)
Rnd 6. (Sc in each of the next 4 sts, make 2 sc in the next st) around. (36 sc made.) End off leaving a tail for sewing to head later. Set aside and make the other lid.
Finishing: Fold the circle in half and sew the open end shut.
Loosely fold the semi circle around the eyeball with the seam you just made facing downward and loosely sew the eyeball inside the lid using the green tail.
Pin the entire eye to the top of the head and arrange both eyes to be equally spaced on the face.
Sew in place.
Sew the bow and hanger to the back of the head.
