Materials Used: Various color of scraps of yarns and threads are used. #4 worsted weight cotton yarn and size H crochet hook. #3 Cotton crochet thread and a size 2 steel crochet hook.
Beard Pattern
Row 1. With Beard colored yarn and hook, ch 5. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1 and turn. (4 sc made.)
Row 2. Working in back loop only (blo.) Sc in each st until last st. Make 2 sc in last st. Ch 2 and turn. (5 sc made.)
Row 3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in blo of each of the next 5 sts. Ch 1 and turn. (6 sc made.)
Row 4. Sc in blo of each of sc across. Ch 2 and turn. (6 sc made.)
Row 5. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in blo of each of the next 6 sts. Ch 1 and turn. (7 sc made.)
Row 6. Sc in blo of each of the next 6 sc. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 7. Sk 1st sc, sc in blo of each of the next sts across. Ch 1 and turn. (5 sc made.)
Row 8. Sc in each of the next 4 sts. (4 sc made.) Ch 1 and turn.
Row 9. Sl st in each of the next 4 sts to reach top. Ch 1 and turn to work across rows 1-9 above.
Make 6 sc across the top to gather beard. End off and weave in the end unless otherwise directed.
January Napkin Ring
Make a white beard using the pattern above.
Ring – Rnd 1. With light Blue ch 9, sc in each the blo of each of the next 6 sts on the beard. Ch 9 and join to the 1st ch made to form a ring.
Rnd 2. Ch 1 and sc in each st around. Do NOT join but do mark the beg st. (24 sc made.)
Rnd 3. Sc in each of the 24 sc around. Join to the beg sc with a sl st. End off and weave in the end.
Nose
Rnd 1. With pink #3 thread and size 2 steel crochet hook, make a magic ring, Ch 1 and make 5 sc in the ring. Do NOT join but do mark 1st sc. (5 sc made.)
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (10 sc.)
Rnd 3. Sc in each of the 10 sts around.
Rnd 4. (Sc the next 2 sts tog) 5 times. (5 sc made.)
End off leaving a long tail and sew to beard as shown below.
Mittens – Make 2
Rnd 1. With Blue #3 thread and size 2 steel crochet hook, make a magic circle. Ch 1 and make 5 sc in the ring. Do NOT join.
Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (10 sc made.)
Rnd 3. Sc in each of the 10 sc around.
Rnd 4. Make a 2 Dc cluster in tne next st. Sc in each of the next 9 sts.
Rnd 5. Sk cluster and sc in the 9 sts around.
Rnd 6. Sk 1st sc sc in each of the 8 sc around. Sl st in each of the next 3 sts. End off leaving a long tail.
Set aside.
Snowflake
With White #3 Cotton crochet thread and size 2 hook, ch 5. Join the 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1. Ch 1 and make 2 sc in the ring. Ch 3, in ring make (2 sc, ch 3) 5 times. 
Join to 1st st made with a sl st. 6 ch 3 loops made.)
Rnd 2. Sl st into the 1st ch 3 lp. Ch 1 and ** in the next lp make (sc, picot and sc)* rep from ** to * around. Join the 1st sc made on rnd with a sl st.
Sew snowflake and mittens to beard as shown below.
