Finishing and starting Hood
Place a marker in the 14th, 20th, 22th, 27th st from the left side.
Row 1. Sl st in the next 6 sts. (For button tab) Ch 2 (does not count as dc) Dc in each st until 1st marked st. (Dc next 2 sts tog) Replace marker in this st. Dc in each remaining st across. Turn. [27, 39 (43, 53) sc made.]

Mark the 2 center sts.

Finishing Raw Edge
Row 1. Attach yarn as shown below on the Cuff side without tab. Make 3 sc up the cuff. Hdc evenly around the raw edge to tab. Note: It is better to keep hdcs not right next tog. You do not want a sloppy face opening. Sl st in tab. Ch 1 and turn.
Note you will be making single crochet post sts on the next row.
Row 2. Make (fpsc around next st. Bpsc around next st) across. End off and weave in the end.
Finishing: Sew ¾” button to side opposite tab. You will use the spaces on the tab between post dcs as a button loop.
Ears – Make 4 (2 inner and 2 outer)
With H hook and Dark Brown yarn, ch 13.
Row 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 10 chs. In the end ch make 4 hdc. Working down the opposite side of ch, sc in each of the next 11 chs. Ch 1, and turn. (26 sts made.)
Row 2. Sc in each of the next 11 sc. (Make 2 hdc in next st) 4 times. Sc in each of the last 11 sc. ch 1 and turn. (30 sts made.)
Row 3. Sc in each of the next 10 sts. Hdc in next st. (Make 2 dc in next st, dc in next st) 4 times. Hdc in next st. Sc in the last 10 sts. End off and weave in the end. Set the piece aside. (34 sts made.) pp
Outside Ear
Repeat Rnds 1-3 above but do not end off. Pick up an inner ear and place it back to back with the portion you just made. Ch 1 and working through both thicknesses sl st in each of the next 5 sts.
