Materials Needed: All yarns are worsted weight unless stated otherwise. Police Bib: ½ oz. White Yarn, ½ oz. Yellow Yarn, 2 ½ oz. Blue Yarn. Four

½ inch brass buttons and one ¾” button. 3 yards Red cotton crochet thread-bedspread weight. Size 7 steel crochet hook. ½ inch brass buttons and one ¾” button. Size G crochet hook.

Shoes: Size G crochet hook for Small Size and I hook for Medium and large sizes with large size in parentheses. Size 7 steel crochet hook. 2 ½ oz. Black yarn. 3 yards Black cotton crochet thread-bedspread weight

POLICE BIB-Bottom-Row 1: With Blue Yarn and G hook, ch 22, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (21 sc.)

Rows 2-5: Make 2 sc in first st. Sc in each st until last st. Make 2 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (29 sts at end of row 5.)


Begin Side Separation-Row 1: Sc in next 8 sts. Sl st in next st. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-9: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (8 sc.)

Row 10: Make 2 sc in first sc for an increase. Sc in each sc until last 2 sc. Make a sc dec over last 2 sc.

(Decrease is at bib’s outside edge and increase is at inside neck edge.) Ch 1, turn. (8 sc.)

Row 11: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (8 sc.)

Rows 12-17: Repeat rows 10 and 11.

Row 18: Sc increase in first st. Sc in next 3 sts. (Sc decrease over next 2 sts) twice. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc.)

Row19: Sc decrease over first 2 sts. Sc in next 5 sts. Ch 1, turn. (6 sc.)

Row 20: Sc increase over first st. Sc in next 3 st. Sc dec over last 2 sts.

Row 21: (Sc decrease over next 2 sts) twice. Sc in next 2 sts. Ch 1 and turn for 2nd side, but end off and weave in end for first side.

Opposite Side-Row 1: Attach Blue Yarn with sl st in opposite side st of Bib-Bottom-Row 27. Sc in same st and in next 7 sts. Sl st in next st. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat Rows 2-21: Repeat Rows 2-21 of Side Separation. Do not end off.

Finishing: Sc in first sc, ch 4 for button loop, skip 1 sc, sc in next 2 sc. Continue in sc evenly around outside edge of bib. Join to first sc with sl st. End off and weave in end.

Right Collar-Row 1: Fold bib in half and mark center neck sc. Join Blue yarn in front loop of marked st with sl st. Ch 1, sc in same st and in next front loop only of the next 24 sts. Sl st in front loop of next st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Working through both loops, sc in next 10 sts. Hdc in next st. Make 2 hdc in next st. Hdc in next 3 sts. Make 2 hdc in next st. Dc in next 3 sts. Make 2 dc in next st. Dc in next 4 sts. Make 2 dc in next st. Dc in last st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (30 sc.)

Row 4: Sc in next 12 sts. Hdc in next 10 sts. Dc in last 8 sts. Ch 1, but do not turn.

Finishing: Sl st evenly across side sts of rows 1-5. Sl st into first marked st. This puts yarn in place for Left Collar.

Left Collar-Row 1: This row only is worked in back loop of each st. Ch 1, sc in back loop only of marked st and in next 24 sts. Sl st in back loop of next st. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat Right Collar Rows 2-4. Sl st evenly across side sts of rows 1-5. End off and weave in end.

Finishing: With darning needle threaded with Blue yarn, tack collar down around edges.

Police Bib-White T-Shirt-Row 1: Note: This row is center neck edge. With White yarn and size G hook, ch

13. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 2 chs. Hdc in next 2 chs, dc in next 2 chs. Hdc in next 2 chs. Sc in next 2 chs, sl st in last st. End off leaving a 15” tail for sewing. Pin to center of neck and sew in place.

Tie-Bottom-Row 1: With Black Yarn and G hook, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (3 sts.)

Row 2: Sc in first st. Make 3 dc in next st. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (5 sts.)

Rows 3-8: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (5 sts.)

Row 9: Sc in first 2 sts. Make 3 dc in next st. Sc in last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (7 sts.)

Rows 10-12: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (7 sts.)

Row 13: Sc in first sc. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Trc in next st. Ch 2, sl st at top in the side of last trc made. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in last st. Do not end off.

Finishing: Sc evenly across rows 1-13, across row 1 and down across rows 1-13. End with sl st into first sc made on row 13. End off leaving a 15” tail. Using tail, sew tie bottom to center of shirt.

Tie Knot-Row 1: With Black Yarn and G hook, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Make 2 sc in sc. Ch 1 turn. (2 sc.)

Row 3: (Make 2 sc in next sc) twice. Ch 1, turn. (4 sc.)

Row 4: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: Make 2 sc in first sc. Sc in next 2 sc. Make 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. (6 sc.)

Rows 6 and 7: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Do not turn at end of row 7.

Finishing: Sc evenly across rows 1-7 and in sc at tip and then down across rows 1-7. End off leaving a 12” tail. Sew in place at top of tie and between collars as shown in picture.

Badge-Rnd 1: With Yellow yarn and G hook. Ch 2, make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, make 2 sc in first st. In next st make (hdc, picot, hdc.) Make 2 sc in next sc. [In next sc make (hdc, picot, hdc.)] three times. Join to first sc with sl st. End off leaving a 12” tail. Using tail, sew to left side of bib. Finishing: With Red cotton crochet thread and size 7 steel hook, ch 2. Make 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join to first sc with sl st. End off leaving a 10” tail. Sew to center of badge.

Pocket-Make 2-Row 1: With Blue yarn and G hook, ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (9 sc.)

Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in next 3 sc. Hdc in next sc. In next sc make (dc, picot, dc.) Hdc in next st. Sc in last 3 sts. End off leaving a 12” tail. Use tail to sew to bib front as shown in photo. Sew small brass button at center.

Finishing: Sew one ¾” button on opposite side of button hole.

BLACK LACE-UP SHOES- Make 2-Sole: With Black Yarn and appropriate hook (Large pattern is in parentheses) - ch 11 (12).

Rnd 1: Make 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 5 (6) ch, hdc in next 3 ch, make 3 hdc in last ch. Working along opposite side of ch, hdc in next 3 ch, sc in last 5 (6) ch. Join with sl st to first sc. [22 (24) sts.]

Rnd 2: Ch 2, hdc in joining. (Counts as first inc.) (Make 2 hdc in next stitch) twice. Hdc in next 8 [9] sts. (Make 2 hdc in next stitch) 3 times for increases at toe. Hdc in next 8 sts. Join to top of first ch-2 with sl st. [28

Rnd 3: Ch 1, make 2 sc in joining for increase, sc in next st. (Make 2 sc in next st, sc in next st) twice. Sc in next 8 [9] sts. (Make 2 sc in next st, sc in next st) three times. Sc in last 8 sts. Join to first sc with sl st. [34 (36) sc]

Rnd 4-Turning round: Ch 1, sc in back loop of each st around. [34, (36) sc.]

Sides-Rnds 5-6: Ch 1, working through both loops, sc in each sc around. End off Black Yarn and weave in end.

Fold Bootie in half and Mark Center front st.

Toe Piece-Row 1: Note: This first row is worked in back loops only. With bootie toe facing you, join Black Yarn in the 7th st to the right of the center marker. Ch1, sc in same st and in blo of next st. (Make a sc dec over next 2 sts) 2 times. Sc in next 3 sts. (Make as sc dec over next 2 sts) 2 times. Sc in next 2 sts. (11 sts.) Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Working through both loops, skip first sc, hdc in next sc. Make a dc dec over next 2 sts. Make a trc dec over next 3 sts. Make a dc dec over next 2 sts. Make a hdc dec over last 2 sts. (5 sts.) Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Make sc dec over 2 sts, sc in next st, make sc dec over last 2 sts. (3 sts.) End off Black Yarn and weave in end.

Tongue- Row 1: With bootie toe facing you, join Black Yarn in the side st of the first toe piece st on Row 1. Ch 1, make 7 evenly spaced sc across Toe Piece. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-4: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc.)

Row 5: Sl st into first st. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Make 2 trc in next st. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sl st into next st. End off and weave in end.

Sides-Row 1: With Black yarn, ch 2, with bootie toe facing you, sc in first side st to left of tongue. Make 18 more evenly spaced sc around until next tongue st. Ch 3, turn.

Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each sc and ch around. (23 sc.)

Row 3: Ch 2, skip first sc, dc in next 3 sc. Hdc in next st, sc in next st. Sl st in next 11 sts. Sc in next st, hdc in next st. Dc in last 4 sts. End off Black and weave in end.

Tie: With Black cotton crochet thread and size 7 steel crochet hook. Ch 150. Thread large darning needle with ch just made and crisscross through Instep sides at center front as if lacing a shoe. Tie in bow at top. Knot and trim ties ends as needed.

Finishing: Attach Black yarn with a sl st in any unused loop of Rnd 4-Turning round. Sl st in each unused loop around. End off and weave in end.
