st = stitch ch = chain

Materials Needed:

Size #10 Brown Cotton Crochet thread -50 yards Size #10 Green Cotton Crochet thread – 70 yards Size #10 Yellow Cotton Crochet thread – 20 yards Size #10 Pink Cotton Crochet thread – 60 yards Size 7 Steel Crochet hook

Darning needle


Special Stitches:

2 Dc cluster- YO and insert hook in st indicated and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook.) YO hook and pull loop through 2 loops, leaving 2 loops on hook. YO and insert hook back into the same st and pull up another loop. (4 loops on hook.) YO hook and pull loop through 2 loops, leaving 3 loops on hook. YO hook and pull loop through 2 loops, leaving 2 loops on hook. YO and pull loop through last 2 loops on hook.


Leaf (Make – 17)


With #10 Green cotton crochet thread and size 7 steel crochet hook, ch 9.


Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 5 ch. Ch 3, join to the last ch on foundation to form a loop.


Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as first trc.) Make 6 trc in first half of loop. Trc in next ch. Make 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch. Make 1 hdc in each of the next 2 ch. Make 3 sc in end ch. Working along opposite side of the leaf, make 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sc. Make 1 dc in each of the next 2 sc. Trc in next sc. Make 7 trc in loop. Join to top of first ch-4 with sl st.


Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in joining. *Ch 4, skip next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc with sl st. End off leaving a 12” tail for sewing to lariat. (13 ch-4 loops made.)


Apple Blossom – (Make 17)


Rnd 1: With #10 Yellow cotton crochet thread and size 7 steel crochet hook, ch 3, dc in first stitch (first dc cluster made), ch 2, make *dc cluster, ch 2* four times. End with, ch 2 join to tip of first dc cluster made. End off yellow and weave in ends.


Rnd 2: Attach # 10 Pink cotton crochet thread in any ch-2 loop from rnd 1. Ch1, (make 2 dc, 3 trc, 2 dc and hdc) in same loop. * Sl st into next loop. Ch 1, (make 2 dc, 3 trc, 2 dc and hdc) in same loop. Repeat from * around. End with sl st in first sl st. End off pink leaving a 10” tail for sewing to lariat.


Lariat

With #10 Brown cotton crochet thread and size 7 steel crochet hook, make a ch about 52” long. (Approximately 450 chains.) Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. End off Brown and weave in ends.

Finishing

Mark lariat with straight pins about every 3” for leaf placement.



Sew leaves on one side and then the other side of the lariat at markings. Sew one leaf to each lariat end.



Sew a flower to each leaf as shown below.
