Materials Needed: Size 7 steel crochet thread. Eleven 3/16” size string-able beads in color desired – ecru shown.(Beads are optional.) Sewing thread in color to match beads and needle. 1/3 ounce of cotton crochet thread in color desired – ecru shown – bedspread weight or #10.

Special Stitches:


Foundation Stitch: * Ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook. Repeat from * until desired number of sts have been completed.

Large Leaf-Make 3: Row 1: Ch 10, skip 1 ch, make 1 sc in each of the next 9 chs. Ch 3, turn. Working across the opposite side of ch, sc back into end ch, make 1 sc in each of the next 6 chs. Ch 3, turn.

Row 2: Working in back loop only, make 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. In next ch-3 space make (sc, ch 3 and sc.) Sc in blo of next 6 sc. Ch 3, turn.

Row 3-8: Working in back loop only, make 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. In next ch-3 space make (sc, ch 3 and sc.) Sc in blo of next 6 sc. Ch 3, turn.

Row 9: Working in back loop only, make 1 sc in each of the next 7 sc. Sl st into ch-3 space. End off and weave in end.

Small Leaf-Make 2: Row 1: Ch 10, skip 1 ch, make 1 sc in each of the next 9 chs. Ch 3, turn. Working across the opposite side of ch, sc back into end ch, make 1 sc in each of the next 6 chs. Ch 3, turn.

Rosette- Make 1: With thread and size 7 hook, ch 4, make 9 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join to top of ch-4 with sl st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each dc around; join with sl st to first sc. (10 sc.)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, skip next sc, ** sc in next sc, ch 3, skip next sc;* repeat from ** to * around; join with sl st to first sc. (5 ch-3 spaces.)

Rnd 4: In first space make ** (sl st, ch 2, 4 dc, ch 2 and sl st.) * Repeat from ** to * around in each ch -3 space around. Do not join. (5 petals.)

Rnd 5: Ch 1; working behind petals and in back loop only of skipped sc on Rnd 2, (sc in next sc, ch 4) around; join with sl st to both loops of first sc. (5 ch-4 spaces.)

Rnd 6: (Sl st, ch 2, 6 dc, ch 2, sl st) in first ch-4 space and in each ch-4 space around. Do not join. (5 petals.)

Rnd 7: Ch 2; working behind petals in ch-4 spaces on Rnd 5, ** skip first 3 dc on next petal, sc in space before next dc, ch 5; repeat from ** to * around. Join to first sc with sl st. (5 ch-5 spaces.)

Rnd 8: (Sl st, ch 2, 8 dc, ch 2, sl st) in first ch-5 space and in each ch-5 space around. Join to first sl st and weave in end. (5 petals.) Set aside.

Small Flower- Make 2: With thread and size 7 hook, ch 4, make 9 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join to top of ch-4 with sl st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each dc around; join with sl st to first sc. (10 sc.)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 3, skip next sc, ** sc in next sc, ch 3, skip next sc;* repeat from ** to * around; join with sl st to first sc. (5 ch-3 spaces.)

Rnd 4: In first space make ** (sl st, ch 2, 4 dc, ch 2 and sl st.) * Repeat from ** to * around in each ch -3 space around. Do not join. (5 petals.)

Assembling Center Piece of Necklace: Stitch each piece together as shown below, having large flower at top center, small leaves at top, small flowers to sides, large leaves at bottom and rings as shown. Weave in any loose threads.


Sew bead to center of each ring if desired. Necktie-Make 2

Start at the tiny flower edge with ch 5 and join to form a circle. Round 1: Ch 1, make 10 sc in ring. Join to first sc with sl st.

Round 2: In same st at sl st make (ch 2 and dc.) In next st make (dc, ch 2 and sl st.) First petal made. * In next st make (sl st, ch 2 and dc.) In next st make (dc, ch 2 and st st.) Repeat from * until 5 petals are completed. Join to first sl st with sl st. DO NOT END OFF.

Tie: Beginning at last petal joining, ch 52. Create foundation sts as follows: * Ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook. Repeat from * until 12 full sts (for 13” neck – more or less sts can be created here for a smaller or larger neck.) have been created. End off leaving a 12” tail to sew to center necklace piece. Sew two beads to each side at flower center. Sew tie to centerpiece as show below making sure rounded portion faces the bottom.
