Materials Needed:

2 ounces Sensations Rainbow Boucle (4 Med) Cream shown. Size I hook. Few yards beige cotton crochet thread size 10 – bedspread weight. Size 8 steel crochet hook.

Tammy Mitts – Make 2

Starting at Bottom of Mitten: With I hook and Cream colored yarn, ch 20 very loosely. Join to first ch with sl st to form ring being careful not to twist ch.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around. Join to first sc with sl st. (20 sc.)

Rnds 2-15: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join to first sc with sl st. (20 sc.)

Start working in Rows to create thumb opening:

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each of the next 20 sc. DO NOT JOIN. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-6: Ch 1 sc in each of the 20 sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Start working in Rounds again to close thumb opening:

Rnd 1: Ch 1 sc in each of the 20 sc across. Join to first sc with sl st to begin working in Rounds again.

Rnds 2-7: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join to first sc with sl st. (20 sc.) At end of rnd 7. End off and weave in end.

Finishing Thumb

Rnd 1: Join yarn in any st at bottom of thumb opening. Ch 1, make 14 evenly space sc around thumb opening. Join to first sc with sl st. (14 sc.)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around decreasing 3 evenly spaced sc. (11 sc.)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. End off and weave in end.

Ruffle Base:

With size 8 hook and cotton thread, ch 66, being careful not to twist ch, join to first ch with sl sl to form a ring. Ch 4, (counts as first hdc and first ch-2) skip 2 ch, hdc in next ch. ** Ch 2, skip 2 ch, hdc in next ch.* Repeat from ** to * across. End with, ch 2, skip last 2 ch, join to 2nd ch of first ch-4 with sl st. End off thread and weave in end. (22 spaces.)

Ruffle

Rnd 1: Attach Boucle yarn with size I hook in any ch-2 space. Ch 3, make 3 dc in same space. Make 4 dc in each space across. Join to first ch-3 with sl st. End off and weave in end.

Opposite side of Ruffle

Rnd 1: Attach Boucle yarn with size I hook in any ch-2 space on opposite side of Ruffle base. Ch 3, make 4 dc in same space. Make 4 dc in each space across. Join to first ch-3 with sl st. End off and weave in end.

Sew Ruffle to cuff at upper edge with thread yarn and darning needle.
