Size H crochet hook
Scraps of worsted weight yarn Darning Needle and Scissors
ch = Chain
hdc = Half double crochet sl st = Slip stitch
blo = Back loop only
hdc2tog = Half double crochet two together (a decrease) sc = Single crochet
Ch 11
Row 4. Ch 1 and turn, blo sc in each st across. (5 sts)
Ch 1, but do NOT turn. Work 3 sc across the flat end of the rows. (1 on each side and 1 in the middle.)
Turn, ch 37 and sl st in the 13th ch from the hook and in each of the next 24 chs. Sl st into the tail. End off and weave in the end.
With Blue yarn make a magic circle and ch 1 to secure. Rnd 1. Ch 1 and make 6 sc in the ring. Do not join. (6 sts) Rnd 2. Sc in each of the 6 sts around.
Pick up the 1st piece and insert your hook in any sc.
Rnd 1. (Note there is a total of 18 sts from both tails) Sc in the next 4 sts on piece 1 (sc2tog). *Sc in 4, sc2tog* x 2. (15 sts.) Work over the 2nd piece as if it were all one piece.
Flatten the tail and make 2 sc through both thicknesses.
Turn, ch 37 and sl st in the 13th ch from the hook and in each of the next 24 chs. Sl st into the tail. End off and weave in the end.
