Hold the Ring Finger next to the pinky and sc in each of the next 3 sts on the Ring Finger. Leave the rem sts unworked.
Hold the Middle Finger next to the Ring Finger and sc in each of the next 4 sts on the Middle finger. Leave the rem stitches unworked.
Hold the Index finger next to the Middle Finger and sc in each of the next 8 sts. Leave the last 2 sts unworked.
Note: There will be 2 unworked sc on the insides of each finger. Turn the work over to begin working on the opposite side:
Sk 2 sc on the Middle Finger and sc in each of the next 4 sts. Leave the 2 remaining sts unworked.
Sk 2 sc on the Ring Finger and sc in each of the next 3 sts. Leave the 2 remaining sts unworked. Sk 2 sc on the Pinky and join to the beginning sc with a sl st. (30 sc)
Secure your loop and with a piece of green yarn sew the middle 2 sts on the inside of the glove to close the gap.
Release the loop you secured to begin working on the hand.
Lay the Thumb and the hand flat as shown below and mark the center side st of each.
Once the 2 sts are sewed together, Pick up your dropped loop on the hand and sc into the next free st on the Thumb and mark it.
Sc in each of the next 10 sts on the Thumb, marking the last st made. You will be making the Gusset between these 2 markers. Sc in each st until the beginning marked st. (38 sc.)
With White ch 28 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
Attach Red yarn in any st on rnd 4.
This rnd will be worked in the back loop only. (blo)
End off leaving a long tail. Do NOT weave closed yet.
Weave in any loose ends to finish your gloves.
Stuff only the fingertips tightly. (No more than 1" down.)
Things you will need.
Lay the hand on a piece of paper and roughly trace it.
Take your wire and bend to fit inside of your tracing. Cut the wire so both pieces meet in the middle and tape together.
Twist the finger wires to make it easier to insert the framework into the hand.
This is the tricky part. Insert each finger and thumb wire into the inside of the hand. Now stuff the hand and fingers with the fiberfill. Set aside for now.
You can use this in a number of ways, use a hanger to hang inside your tree, nestle it into a nook on a shelf or hang it from a door.
I decided to use it as my wreath this year so I purchased the following hanger at Home Depot.
I then cut the bottom hook off about 2-3 inches up with a hacksaw and bent it to look like the one on the right.
Then put it through the hole at the base of the arm and secure. I tightened the yarn end and glue the top of the piece to the hanger.
Stuff the arm firmly around the hanger.
Sew the hand and the arm together. If you are using a hanger make sure the thumb is opposite the hanger as shown below.
Christmas Bulb
End off leaving a 12" tail.
With metallic #10 thread and a size ½ steel crochet hook, ch 14 and join to the 1st ch to form a circle.
Weave the hole closed using the tail. With the rem portion of the tail ch 10 and sl st back into the same st. End off and weave in the end. Stuff lightly.
Glue or sew to the top of the bulb.
Crochet a red chain or cut a piece of red ¼" ribbon about 5" long Attach it to the bulb and glue it between the Thumb and forefinger
Shape the remaining fingers as desired.
Hang from you door, place in your tree, or place it on a shelf.
